Chattanooga Primary CARE Center offers a full range of services for individuals living with HIV. These services include: primary and infectious disease care, nutritional counseling, mental health counseling, laboratory services, and health maintenance for preventative care.

The goal of Client Services is to coordinate a comprehensive continuum of care that encompasses social support necessary to assist clients in obtaining an optimum of care. This can be done by providing, coordinating, and assuring social support necessary to assist clients in maintaining their prospective health, safety, and well-being. Some direct care services are, but are not limited to:

  • Food Assistance (Nutrition Assistance / Mobile Market Services)

  • Short-Term Rental / Mortgage / Utility Assistance
  • Housing Opportunity for People Living with HIV/AIDS (HOPWA) Program

  • Support Groups (Women’s HIV Group, CARES Support Group, and Rural Support Group)

Chattanooga CARES’ community outreach & education department works with many regional agencies to provide testing, education and information to break down social stigmas, and to help prevent the spread of HIV in 23 counties in Southeast Tennessee.

Syringe Trade and Education Program (STEP TN) is a harm reduction and education program for injection drug users. STEP TN is designed to reduce the spread of HIV, Hepatitis C, and other bloodborne infections, as well as, provide safe disposal of needles and syringes.
